Chassis
A wheeled frame used to transport an intermodal shipping container by truck.
A chassis connects an ocean or rail container to a tractor for over-the-road movement. Chassis supply, ownership, and pooling arrangements at ports and rail ramps are a frequent source of detention charges and drayage delays.
