Privacy Policy

1. Overview

SupplyChain.tools ("we", "us", "our") provides free supply chain calculators, lookup tools, and reference content. We respect your privacy and collect the minimum information needed to operate and improve the platform. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

2. Who we are

SupplyChain.tools is operated as an independent reference platform for logistics and supply chain professionals. For privacy questions, contact us through the contact page.

3. Data we collect

We collect only what's required to deliver and improve the service:

  • Anonymous usage data: pages visited, referrer, approximate region, device type, and aggregate performance metrics.
  • Account data (only if you sign up): email address, display name, and authentication metadata.
  • Saved calculations (only if you sign in and save): the inputs and results you explicitly choose to store under your profile.
  • Support messages: anything you send us through the contact form.

We do not sell personal data and we do not build advertising profiles.

4. Calculator inputs

Numbers you enter into any calculator (weights, dimensions, costs, demand, carrier names, SKUs, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers unless you are signed in and explicitly choose to save a calculation to your profile.

5. Accounts & saved calculations

A free profile lets you save calculations, access advanced pro calculators, and sync across devices. Account creation is optional - all core tools work without one. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings; deletion removes your profile, saved calculations, and associated authentication data.

6. Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential: authentication session, theme preference (light/dark), and security tokens. Required for the site to function.
  • Analytics: privacy-respecting, aggregate usage analytics to understand which tools are most used and where performance can be improved. No cross-site tracking.

You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will sign you out and disable any features that depend on remembering preferences.

7. Third-party processors

We rely on a small set of vetted service providers to run the site - hosting, authentication, database, and analytics. These processors handle data on our behalf under contractual data-protection terms and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

If you are in the EEA or UK, we process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the account, saved calculations, and pro features you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the platform via aggregate analytics.
  • Consent: for any optional communications you opt into.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable law and lawful requests.

9. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal data (we do neither).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page.

10. Data retention

Account data is retained while your profile is active. Saved calculations are kept until you delete them or your account. Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate and cannot be linked back to a specific person.

11. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), database-level access controls, hashed passwords, and least-privilege service credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we follow industry best practices and respond promptly to any confirmed incident.

12. Children's privacy

SupplyChain.tools is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the service or applicable law. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
