Terms of Service

Last updated: June 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SupplyChain.tools ("the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to anonymous visitors and registered users alike.

2. The service

SupplyChain.tools provides free online calculators, lookup tools, glossary entries, and reference content for logistics, freight, warehousing, procurement, and inventory professionals. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

3. Accounts

Some features (saved calculations, advanced pro calculators) require a free account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized use. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA/UK) to create an account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any third-party rights.
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download content or datasets without prior written permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code outside what's permitted by law.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the security or integrity of the service.
  • Resell, white-label, or republish the service or its underlying datasets as your own product.
  • Use automated systems to generate excessive load beyond ordinary human use.

5. Calculator & data disclaimer

All calculators, lookup results, glossary definitions, and reference data are provided for informational purposes only and represent estimates based on industry-standard formulas and public references. Freight class assignments, NMFC codes, SCAC codes, dimensional weight, duty rates, emissions factors, and inventory parameters can vary by carrier, jurisdiction, contract, and time.

You are solely responsible for verifying results with your carrier, broker, supplier, customs authority, or ERP system before using them for quotes, contracts, regulatory filings, or other commercial decisions. SupplyChain.tools is not a carrier, broker, customs agent, or freight forwarder.

6. Intellectual property

The service, including its design, code, content, branding, and underlying datasets, is owned by SupplyChain.tools and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your personal or internal business use, subject to these terms.

You may link to pages on SupplyChain.tools and cite definitions with attribution. You may not copy, redistribute, or republish substantial portions of the content or datasets without prior written permission.

7. User content

Anything you submit (saved calculations, contact-form messages, feedback) remains yours. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to host, process, and use it as needed to operate and improve the service. Do not submit confidential third-party information you are not authorized to share.

8. Third-party services

The service may reference or link to third-party sites, carriers, regulators, and standards bodies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third party. Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms.

9. Fees & pro features

Core calculators, lookup tools, and reference content are free. Certain advanced "pro" calculators or features may require a free account or, in the future, a paid plan. If we introduce paid plans, applicable pricing and terms will be presented before purchase.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these terms, misuse the service, or create risk for us or other users. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will do so.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or suitable for any particular use.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SupplyChain.tools and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the service - even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD $100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SupplyChain.tools, its operators, contributors, and licensors from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notice in-product or by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
