MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
A planning method that calculates the materials and components needed to produce finished goods on schedule.
MRP uses the master production schedule, bill of materials, and inventory on hand to generate purchase and work orders with correct quantities and timing. It is a foundational module in most ERP systems and the predecessor to MRP II and modern supply planning suites.
