Push vs Pull Supply Chain
Two opposing approaches to inventory replenishment: push is forecast-driven, pull is demand-driven.
In a push system, goods are produced or moved based on anticipated demand (forecasts). In a pull system, goods are produced or moved only in response to actual demand signals. Most real supply chains use a hybrid: push to a decoupling point, then pull downstream.
