Tare Weight
The weight of an empty container, vehicle, or packaging, excluding the cargo.
Tare weight is subtracted from gross weight to calculate the net (cargo) weight. It is stenciled on shipping containers and printed on truck cab doors, and is essential for axle-load compliance and accurate freight billing.
