TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit)
A standard unit of container capacity equal to one 20-foot ISO shipping container.
TEU is used to measure ship capacity, port throughput, and global container flows. A 40-foot container counts as 2 TEU. Most modern container ships carry several thousand to over 20,000 TEU.
