A building used to store goods before they are distributed or sold.
Warehouses provide storage, value-added services (kitting, labeling, light assembly), and a buffer between supply and demand. Types include private, public, contract, bonded, and automated facilities, often differentiated from DCs by emphasis on storage versus throughput.
