A Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) is a unique 2–4 letter code assigned by the NMFTA to identify transportation companies. SCAC codes are used in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions, bills of lading, intermodal shipments, and regulatory filings with the FMCSA.
